A short, informal quiz to help you recognise patterns in how your brain works.

Tick the statements that feel true for you

Focus & Attention (ADHD traits)

  • ☐ I struggle to stay focused, especially on tasks I’m not interested in

  • ☐ I start things but find it hard to finish them

  • ☐ My mind feels busy or “on the go” most of the time

  • ☐ I leave things until the last minute, even when I don’t want to

  • ☐ I get easily distracted by my environment or thoughts

Reading, Writing & Processing (Dyslexia traits)

  • ☐ I re-read things several times to understand them

  • ☐ I mix up words, letters, or spellings

  • ☐ Writing takes more effort than it seems to for others

  • ☐ I find it easier to explain things verbally than in writing

  • ☐ I struggle to organise my thoughts on paper

Numbers & Maths (Dyscalculia traits)

  • ☐ I find mental maths difficult or slow

  • ☐ I struggle to remember numbers (e.g. PINs, dates)

  • ☐ I lose track of steps when doing calculations

  • ☐ I feel anxious when dealing with numbers or money

  • ☐ I rely heavily on calculators for simple maths

Coordination & Organisation (Dyspraxia traits)

  • ☐ I can be clumsy or bump into things

  • ☐ I struggle with coordination or fine motor tasks

  • ☐ I find planning and organising tasks difficult

  • ☐ I feel slower to process and respond in situations

  • ☐ I get overwhelmed when there are multiple steps to follow

Social & Sensory (Autism traits)

  • ☐ I find social situations draining or confusing

  • ☐ I prefer routine and predictability

  • ☐ I feel overwhelmed by noise, lights, or busy environments

  • ☐ I sometimes struggle to read social cues

Your Results (Simple Guidance)

If you ticked several boxes in one area, this may suggest:

  • Focus & attention → ADHD traits

  • Reading & writing → Dyslexia traits

  • Numbers → Dyscalculia traits

  • Coordination → Dyspraxia traits

  • Social & sensory → Autism traits

This quiz is not a diagnosis - but it can help you recognise patterns.

Many people have overlapping traits across different areas.

Child Assessments for Dyslexia

I provide comprehensive dyslexia assessments for children aged 7 years and above, carried out by a Chartered Psychologist and HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist.

The assessment explores a child’s cognitive profile, reading, spelling and processing skills to identify whether dyslexia is present and to provide clear recommendations for school support and learning strategies.

As a Chartered Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience in neurodiversity assessment, my reports provide a detailed understanding of how a child learns, processes information and manages written work. This allows parents and schools to implement targeted support strategies that build confidence and improve academic progress.

Signs Your Child May Have Dyslexia

reading is slow or effortful

difficulty spelling common words

avoids reading aloud

struggles to record ideas in writing

difficulty copying from the board

homework takes much longer than expected

strong verbal ability but written work does not reflect ability

If these difficulties sound familiar, a dyslexia assessment can help identify your child’s learning profile and guide appropriate support.

Reports include clear recommendations that can support discussions with schools regarding reasonable adjustments and learning support.

ADHD Case Study

“I know what I need to do… I just can’t seem to do it.”

Sarah, a 34-year-old professional, came for an assessment feeling constantly overwhelmed. She described starting multiple tasks but rarely finishing them, missing deadlines, and feeling mentally exhausted trying to “keep up.”

She had previously been told it was anxiety, but felt this didn’t fully explain her difficulties with focus, organisation, and follow-through.

Through a structured ADHD screening and functional assessment, we identified a clear pattern consistent with ADHD. Her report helped her understand how her brain works, and she was able to access workplace adjustments and implement practical strategies.

Within weeks, she reported feeling more in control, less overwhelmed, and better able to manage her workload.

Dyslexia Case Study

“I work twice as hard as everyone else just to keep up.”

James, a university student, sought support after struggling with written assignments despite strong verbal ability. He found himself re-reading texts multiple times and losing confidence in his academic ability.

Following a full dyslexia assessment, a specific learning profile was identified. His report enabled him to access DSA support, including assistive technology and study strategies.

With the right support in place, his confidence improved and his academic performance began to reflect his true ability.

Dyscalculia Case Study

“Numbers just don’t stay in my head.”

Emma, a 29-year-old, had always struggled with numbers but had never understood why. Managing finances, remembering figures, and even basic calculations caused significant anxiety.

A dyscalculia screening highlighted specific difficulties with number processing and working memory.

With tailored strategies and support, Emma developed more confidence managing everyday tasks and reduced her anxiety around numbers.

Dyspraxia Case Study

“Everything just feels harder than it should be.”

Tom, a 26-year-old, described ongoing difficulties with coordination, organisation, and processing information quickly. He often felt behind others in both work and daily tasks.

A dyspraxia assessment highlighted challenges with motor coordination and executive functioning.

With practical strategies and workplace adjustments, Tom reported feeling less overwhelmed and more able to manage his responsibilities effectively.

Autism Case Study

“I’ve always felt different, but never knew why.”

Rachel, a 38-year-old, came for an autism screening after years of feeling socially exhausted and overwhelmed in busy environments. She had learned to “mask” her difficulties but found it increasingly draining.

The assessment identified a profile consistent with autism.

Understanding this allowed Rachel to make changes to her environment, reduce sensory overload, and feel more confident in how she interacts with others.

The Purpose That Drives My Work
My work is grounded in a simple belief: everyone deserves to understand how their mind works — and to be supported in ways that allow them to thrive, not just cope.

Many people come to me after years of frustration, hard work, or self-doubt, unsure why certain tasks feel harder than they should. My role is to turn that uncertainty into clarity. Through careful, evidence-based assessment and meaningful conversation, I help people see that their challenges are not a lack of effort, but a difference in how their brain processes information.

That moment of understanding is powerful — it can rebuild confidence, restore motivation, and open the door to tailored support. Equally, I’m driven by the wider impact this work has: helping universities and employers recognise that inclusion begins with insight. Every report I write and every conversation I have contributes to environments that understand and value cognitive diversity.

ADHD Coaching

ADHD Coaching: Practical Support That Actually Works

Understand your brain. Build strategies that fit. Feel more in control.

ADHD isn’t a lack of ability — it’s a difference in how your brain manages attention, motivation, and organisation.

Many people with ADHD describe:

  • Knowing what they need to do, but struggling to start

  • Feeling overwhelmed by everyday tasks

  • Difficulty with follow-through and consistency

  • Burnout from trying to “keep up”

ADHD coaching focuses on practical, personalised strategies to help you work with your brain, not against it.

  • Reducing overwhelm and procrastination

  • Emotional regulation and managing stress

This is not generic advice — it’s personalised, focused support.
